What's it all about?

Franklin lives with his mum and dad at number 3 Stanley Street. He loves living there. He loves the smell from the pie factory nearby and the fact his best friend lives a couple of doors away.

But now that his mum is expecting twins, they need to moves somewhere bigger. How can Franklin stop such a thing from happening? Especially when a nasty man, Mr Bragg, wants to buy the house

Where did the idea come from?

There is a real Stanley Street in Newark, Nottinghamshire. It's a lovely old red brick row of terraced houses smack bang in them idle of an industrial estate.

I've often wondered how it has survived demolition and what it must be like to live there.
