I read a newspaper article about homeless people in Britain. It said finding decent housing for homeless people, especially families, was a real problem. One solution was to send them to the seaside in winter as B&Bs were usually empty then. An idea came which had both the 'light and dark' needed in a story - the darkness of poverty and the lightness of a seaside setting.
